Overview

We study friction extrusion, friction stir processing, additive friction stir deposition, and related severe-plastic-deformation routes to connect processing path with microstructure and performance.

Research questions

  • How do local thermomechanical histories control grain refinement and texture?
  • How can solid-phase routes consolidate powders and manufacture complex forms?
